three way valve

does anyone have information on the model or replacement for the three way valve under the sink on a 30 ? Mine is stuck in its current position and I am sure the minute I put even a bit of force on it to move it the valve will break. I want to be prepared.

Thanks for the advice

Mark: Have you tried taking it apart or back flushing it?? I’ve not looked at mine in a long time, but I thought I saw screws on the side for dis-assembly.

I hadn’t thought of that. I do see some screws there. will try that

Mark,

I had a blockage causing a very slow discharge from my (salt water) Jabsco manual head. I disconnected the three hoses which discharge overboard and found a build up of calcification. The three way (Y) valve was impossible to turn and had the largest build up calcified salt, which reduced the inside diameter from 1.5 inches to about .75 inches. I do not remember the brand of valve in the boat, I thought it somewhat flimsy. I replaced it with a Marelon Y valve. I also replaced 12’ feet of sanitary hose using the Vetus brand available from Hamilton Marine. This hose is similar to the raritan brand and is more flexible and easy to use. Good luck with your project!

I found the details of a 3-way valve I bought a little over a year ago. It was an almost-exact replacement of the one that came stock on my boat, right down to the mounting holes in the casting. It’s been working fine, with a much easier switching action that the original valve, which had broken due to stiff turning.

I bought the valve for about $28 at Tidewater Marina in Havre de Grace, MD.
