Toe Rail

Good evening,

I have a leaking hull-deck joint on my 1979 30C and think that a good part of the problem is the teak toe rail. I read thru a discussion from a few years ago about addressing this and was planning to clean it up, cut a minimal grove along the base of the toe rail and caulk with LifeSeal. The forward section of the toe rail is two smaller, bent pieces of teak with some type of sealer between, and as I’m cleaning out the remnants of whatever that was I became concerned about goal #2 (goal #1, fix the problem; goal #2, if you don’t fix it, don’t make it worse). It’s a very thin space to fill (a 1/16" line) and maybe liquid caulk will work here but maybe not. Has anyone tackled this particular area before?

(regrets - the picture I took earlier seems to have disappeared)

Thanks
Jon
