WP 32 parts.

After a euphoric sail I was drifting, furling the sail when I realised I had left the Wheel Pilot engaged. It had valiantly strived to keep Chancy on course and died in the effort.

Actually one of the rollers broke. I can find replacements for the rollers that hold the rim but the one I need is the larger roller that tensions the belt.

If anyone happens to have one that is not being used, please let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Is your pilot a Raymarine? Who makes WP 32?

Sorry, Simrad.

Mike,

I’m guessing that, if someone doesn’t point you to a source of off-the-shelf replacement parts, you may simply be able to match the material and dimensions of the roller at the top of the picture. But, it looks like the stud which would hold your missing roller is very seriously bent. That seems like it might be a bigger problem.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and offers.

In the end I got connected with Steve Wallace at. r.wallace@i3DGear.com

Steve had everything I needed to do a proper rebuild of the SIMRAD WP32

He was prompt to respond and very helpful.

It sounds like he is planning to spend more time on his boat and less time making parts so if you are thinking your Wheel Pilot needs some attention or you would like to have some rollers on hand just in case!!!
