@ Peter Grabow - didn’t u dock in Jersey City?
Thanks for sharing this newsworthy story effecting all sailboat owners. However, It’s interesting that a US Navy story I posted to our Nonsuch Facebook page got rejected with no explanation. The story was about our US Navy sailor’s paychecks being in jeporty due to the fact the Iran war has created a major deficit in the Navy’s budget. If a non-Nonsuch stolen sailboat is noteworthy, why not our US Navy sailors hardships?
What exactly are the rules of posting to ether the Facebook page or our forum? Nonsuch topics only? Sailing in general?
I posted a short answer to the general question of what are the rules about posting in this forum here: What the Different INA Internet Services are Intended For - #2 by NS233_Bob_Neches
So as not to take this thread off-topic, I’m also sending personal response to the implicit question about whether the US Navy story would be ok here.
As moderator, I let this one go through because I took it as Gary either teasing Peter or just asking if he knew more. I tagged it as humor for the first reason[1]. I also assumed that all Nonsuch owners might care about boats being stolen and safety issues in harbors they frequent.
That said, my personal hope for this group is to stay close to things that help Nonsuch owners with each other’s boats.

For the record, I don’t regard police being hurt or anyone being killed as funny. (Well, at least not in public forums.) I’m jealous enough of Hinckley owners that I can see a little humor in that, but would hate to see the forum go too far down that path. ↩︎
