A beautiful day with five beautiful boats rafted up for a lively and entertaining afternoon August 31st in Oyster Bay. From as close as Oyster Bay NY and as far as Newport RI - Nonsuch fellowship was in abundance. Roving tours , cocktails and nibbles were shared as well as laughs, tricks and ideas.
In addition to having five Nonsuch Yachts in attendance we had three owners named “Peter” ! They were quickly numbered as Peter one, two and three!
The following Nonsuches attended - Bliss, Loon, Aloki, Irish Mist & ,CakeWalk III. Three boats remained rafted overnight as conditions were quite calm. A suggestion to have a raft up next year in Port Jefferson NY was met with smiles. See you at the next one, regards, Gary /Aloki
Bravo Oyster Bay raft up!
I wish we could have been there.

I was in Port Jefferson and saw a Nonsuch leaving last Friday morning. I was wondering if they were heading to the Oyster Bay Raft Up. I tried contacting them on the VHF but got no reply. Glad the Raft Up went well.

Thanks Mike. That was probably Loon (NS26 /Newport) as she was in Port Jeff enroute to Oyster Bay that day. Sorry you couldn’t join us.
Great place. I’ve been to Oyster Bay and Cold Spring Harbor numerous times. Both at anchor and on a mooring. Enjoyed watching the Oyster boats work the harbor while having my morning coffee. My crew on one trip had worked on the Oyster dredges as a teenager and had a lot of amusing stories about the job. I also had some repairs done at the Oyster Bay Marine Center too. Even sailed over for the Oyster Festival in October one year. Lot of good memories about the area.
