Is there a reasonable explanation for why there is a fuel filter on my Universal M35B rather than an oil filter? Are they interchangeable? The motor has a separate fuel filter. I’m changing the oil and filters in a few days.

I just looked it up. It is a fuel filter. It just looks like an oil filter.

The oil filter and the spin on fuel filter in your photo are not interchangeable. Using the wrong filter at either location will damage the engine . Do you have the operator’s manual for the M35B? It is a clear and concise document and can answer your question.
