I have to haul the boat in the New Year to fix a couple of things, and I want to fill and touch up a few gouges. Can anyone tell me what brand and color most closely-matches the factory orignal gel-coat on my boat? It is a 1987 and I would describe it as “off-white”. I would presume many of us have the same color. See attached photo. I can guess but it might end up looking awful.
One way to get a reasonably close match is to mix the gelcoat up on a piece of glass and add colour till when compared to the gelcoat it is a close match. Lighter is better than darker. West Marine sells tubes of tint colours.
