Some members are having problems “parking” their yachts. If we have problems, think of what a pilot has to go through to park a two million barrel capacity oil tanker 330 metres long and 60 metres wide. For anyone interested, there is a fascinating account by Julian Blatchley in the summer 2020 issue of The Marine Quarterly www.marinequarterly.com. It is a means to pass the time during a lockdown or foul weather.
I had the pleasure of serving on a large tanker for about a year when on active duty with the USN. And I do remember navigation problems in restricted waters.

While not strictly a PARKING issue (and not wanting to hijack this thread), it’s one thing to “park” a huge vessel and, I guess, a similar challenge for 2 so-so sized ones to pass each other in the widest part of the busy Welland Canal, connecting Lake Ontario with Lake Erie.
A couple of weeks ago, these 2 guys tried it twice… so it seems. Maybe they should have gone for the hat trick. Sorry, you’ll have to cut and paste this.
