Anyone have a pdf of the manual or schematic drawing of the WC Imperial 51 installed in so many of our boats? I’m most of the way through the rebuild, but my piston is stuck in the pump housing so I still have to take that apart. I’m grateful to a former owner for leaving me with a rebuild kit.
Can anyone help?
BTW, I have discovered that this is a beautiful toilet. Don’t replace yours without giving thought to the quality item you would be foregoing. You can buy rebuild kits even now.
I was unable to load earlier posts on this topic from the Discussion Group web page. The search engine finds and lists related posts, but the screen goes blank when I try to open one.
I ended up buyiing a Jabsco for about $40.00 less than a re-build kit would have cost me, in Canada, for the W/C. The W/C is a great toilet (and is reputed to be able to flush EMPTY beer cans, not full ones). But … I caved. The thought of rebuilding a VERY OLD, WELL USED TOILET in my basement, hoping that I’d get it right, AFTER getting the typical Canadian price ripoff for most things ??? Nope.
We use the head very little onboard. An OK quality nice, new Jabsco filled the bill.
I spent my toilet re-building time reading, actually. The book, you ask ?? “Days at the pumpout” by M.T. Hedd.
I LOVED my W-C toilet. I rebuilt it 10 years ago, and it still works like new. I also ground off the paint, and now have a solid bronze GOLD THRONE. Bulletproof.

I’ve been trying hard to find a rebuild kit for these Imperial 51’s and so far have been unsuccessful. Please let me know if you have found a source. Barring that, a few pictures of the items included in the kit would be helpful. I’m looking at reproducing them using a 3D printer for the hard parts and what is needed for the soft parts.
