Hi Folks, if any of you have removed the large plastic mirror in the head I would be interested in knowing the best way of doing so.
Any insight would be appreciated…thanks…Ron

When I replaced the mirror in the head of 1981 30 C, I had to remove the teak trim on the bottom and side. There was one small screw with a plastic washer. There was a hole drilled in the mirror for the screw. When I installed the new mirror, I did not see the need for the screw and just replaced the teak trim. Hope this helps

Ron and Diane,
I have NS30U #471, Moonbeam. I recently replaced the mirror, as it was 40% bad from aged silvering. I expected it to be an easy job to remove it, however it took a good hour. My mirror was attached with a silicone or silicone based adhesive. I started with a 1.5 inch wide putty knife and wide wood chisel, but quickly went with my electric multi tool using a fairly wide putty knife attachment, then a wide putty knife shape cutting tool. The adhesive did a good job holding the mirror, so it was difficult to remove. The mirror broke in small pieces. The multi tool was very helpful and was also used to get the surface smooth after the mirror glass was removed. I bought a 1/8" mirror and attached it with mirror adhesive they sold me at the glass shop. The original mirror was attached without hardware, so I wanted the same, clean look. I am very glad I replaced the mirror as it has improved the look of the head lavatory space.
