The Mirror on the head bulkhead

Is there a better way to remove the mirror other than messing up perfectly good teak which I am not prepared to do? I am considering cutting out the mirror and replacing it with something smaller which can be removed to access the bolts behind. Has anybody tried this?? Joe and Thor, when you removed your mirrors what was the condition of the bulkhead behind it? Was it finished or suitable for finishing? Your collective wisdom would be appreciated. At our stage in the game Brenda and I don’t need a large mirror to view the ageing process! Neither does Mascouche need a leak to ruin the teak.

My recollection of the wood behind the mirror was that it was unfinished and not of a great quality. I’ve often considered making mine smaller and adding storage.

I rebedded the same bracket on our 26C. The trim around the mirror came off no problem. The mirro then came down and out. A little tricky but doable. The teak behind was same as the rest of the teak in the head.
