I have been working with Jim K. and Bob G. on developing an article on the subject of Nonsuch cabin house decal renewal. We have been investigating whether the symbols beside the sail part of the decal are just elements for supporting installation. The challenge is to confirm whether these symbols existed on earlier boats. All 3 of our boats are from 1987, so close to the end of the initial production.
Can any of you with low hull numbers from the 26 or 30 models confirm which of the options attached reflect your boat (design wise - not current condition).
Really looking for boats with ZHYN numbers ending in 78 to 82. Specifically attempting to confirm if the symbols beside the sail were present in the earlier production run between 1978 and 1982.
Images attached show the single colour blue with symbols beside the sail and the two colour without the symbols beside the sail.
Thanks

Nonsuch 26U Purrfection #232
FWIW, Solar Wind, an early '84 26C, #143, did NOT have symbols with the sail logo, but did have the blue and red rather than all blue version of the logo.
Our 1981 30 classic is hull number 93. We purchased her in 2004 and there were no decals on the cabin house and no indication that there may have been. I suppose it is possible one of the former owners removed them. I have wondered if the decals only appear on newer boats.

We have the faded image of where the decal once was, near the metal Nonsuch plate on each side of the cabin. Whether it was colour or all blue is impossible to say. 1983 26 classic. Friend of mine has this builders plate on his as well. I assume it is there to meet the requirements of a registered vessel.
Thanks for the responses so far. A little clarity, these are vinyl decals located on the exterior between the cabin house portholes on a N26, on some 30s aft of the portholes generally about where the dodger reaches the gunwale. Butch’s photo, although small does show the under the dodger location. Following John’s suggestion I have done some checking at online brokers and found a few examples. For what I have found so far it does appear that models manufactured earlier have the vinyl decal without the registration centering symbols. Also I have seen that some of the larger models, N33 and N36 have plaques instead of decals. More confirmation is welcome.
I have attached a photo of my N26U with the location circled.
My 1983 26C #121 has the decal in blue without the two little marks on either side of the sail icon. I do not believe those marks are an intended part of the design. Where did you see that version on the left?
