Hi all, I may have an opportunity to purchase a Dodger and Bimini frame from a de-commissioned 1980 Nonsuch 30. My boat is a 1984 Nonsuch 30 U . Is it likely that they will be a match??? I will go over asap and take some measurements but I just thought I would ask for input as there may be details that I am unaware of. Thanks

Hi Brian,
Although I no longer have the measurements I compared the cockpit measurements of Ed Bahniuk’s NS 30U #503 to My NS 30C #196 a year ago. The measurements are similar but the classic was slightly (I mean slight) larger than the Ultra. However looking at various pictures over the past year or so, it is apparent that there were some variations is cockpit layout over the years or modified by request. If I were a betting man (I am not) I would take a chance on the purchase. If time is on your side, let me know and I will be most happy to get appropriate measurements for you off both my boat and Ed’s boat. Ed and I are good friends and our boats are within a mile from one another. I am in a position to do that immediately. It’s going to be hot so it’ll be a morning thing. Are you sure your boat is 1984? Mine is #211 and the serial number indicates an August 1984 build.
You may have a newer boat than you thought.

Since FATE is a 30U #343 and a 1986 boat, I’m guessing his is also a 1986. (Assuming the hull number is really #344).
