Westerbeke 21 exhaust wet elbow

HI Bob
Like Jim Stanley, I replaced mine with Murray Cressman’s elbow some years ago, shortly after I brought it to salt water from Lake Ontario. It was corroded and had suddenly started spouting like a whale. As it turned out, when I got my new one from Murray it had a few pinhole leaks in it, the local welder who repaired that wondered how much I paid (which I forget now), and said he could make that up in a breeze. I would urge you to replace in stainless especially if you are in salt water. If you have a trusty welding shop at hand, ask them for a price to make one. It will probably be less than a Westerbeke factory part.

Cheers,
Greg

That's exactly how I would do it. But then the yard I use has the best welder I've ever seen.

Are these elbows all pretty much the same design in terms of size of thread and configuration. I can’t see why they wouldn’t be…
